Anybody done it?

Was there much gunk inside them?

Any improvement ie car running smoother?

What did you use? carb cleaner?

Will the dirty fluid not run into the engine?

How much work is involved?

do not clean the bodies whilst on the car.

How much work is involved in removing, cleaning and replacing them for a person far from a mechanic with a set of spanners and common sense?

no issue cleaning them on the car just be carefull, its abit of a pain I dont have todo it anymore since iv killed the pcv, The pcv throws oil and gunk into them and yes it does help the runing of the engine...

Id just use petrol on a rag, clean it with heaps while the throttles are closed, soak up any cleaner left in there then use a rag moist with cleaner open the throttle bodys, throw a screwdriver in the cable lever to hold them open clean the back and edges of the butterfly and down as far as you can.

If you spill a large amount of cleaner (would use petrol less chance of any engine damage) pull all the plugs pull your dizzy lead and crank it over an blow the fuel out... rember to lay a rag over the plug holes.

with the bodies facing away from you, it makes it difficult to see what your doing. as you wipe it, the dirt will clump up together, and as you have the bodies jammed open, the chances are it will fall off the rag and into your engine. yes u can be careful but none the less, dirt will fall in.
