And the cables behind it are too tight! I basically removed all the trim, lowered the steering wheel and pulled out the instrument cluster/clocks and I couldn't pull it out far enough to unclip the cables as there wasn't enough slack in them. What kind of connections are they? Can you just reach around and pull them out or do they clip in? Obviously I don't want to break them, as they're rather expensive to replace... but I really want my speedo fixed!Does anyone have an image of the back of the cluster or even better...the wiring behind them? Or has anyone removed theirs and can give me some tips?! Thanks. |

I see, it looks like they do have clips on so it's gonna be really akward to pull them out without being able to see round the back of them properly.
:( No idea how they got the bloody thing in! What's that black box that's circled anyway? Thanks for the pictures, that does actually help quite a lot, at least I know what I am looking to pull out. |

Needs to Try Harder

Here are some pics of the cluster from my cynos....when I had it apart....the clips/sockets are the exact same type...all the clips are oriented so that the spring loaded part is at the top of the socket...it's a case of levering this part down while pulling the connector from the socket...these pics are bigger so should be more useful...![]()

they are cliped just reach around and feel around for them, you can slightly angle the cluster to make it easyer, putting them back in is another streach the fingers around job, no way you can mix up the plugs. |
