How hard is it to wire in an oil temperature gauge into an AE111?

What's involved?

Thanks. B)

Needs to Try Harder
Would need to take an oil line from somewhere- get an adaptor/sandwich plate for fitting between engine/oil filter. It'll have a fitment for the sender. Wire the sender to the gauge (obviously not quite as simplified as that!!)

Stage 2
pretty simple...you need an oil block adapter - Greddy/Trust has a nice Universal one and you need to get a 1/8 PT sender type gauge to fit in the block adapter...

I'm using a Defi Oil temp....

Hi mate
OIL TEMP GAUGE
if your gauge has a bulb you will have 5 cables coming out the back of the gauge,
2 for the bulb + and - which i recommend running through a switch before connecting to the dash bulbs as some gauges can be very glareing while driving long journeys,

2 cables for your gauge power supply + and - connect the neg to the nearest earth point on the car and the positive to your ignition

1 sensor cable *
route the sensor cable through an available grommet to the engine ensuring it is well clear of any hot areas of the engine,
obtain a sandwitch adapter which acts like a double adapter in the house, it basicly a large washer with holes in the sides, of it, the holes in the sides will have little screw caps in them, remove the cap and screw in your sensor, weather it be pressiure or tempature, also before screwing in wrap a layer of seal tape around the sensor threads to help prevent leaks, you remove your oil filter screw the filter on to the sandwitch adapter and the sandwitch adapter screws in to the oil filter hole,
the sensor will have 2 cables an earth and a feed connect the earth to the nearest earthing point and the feed to the cable you have routed to the engine area then turn on the egnition and your sorted. if you would like any more info PM me happy to help any1

Thanks for reading
Kind Regards
lenny
