Oh dear...... right i had taken out my ecu to get ready to fit my TOM's ecu which is on its way, i wanted to take the car out so i put it back in, but now it wont start!! does the ecu have to be bolted in to get an earth? ive tried it just plugged in and also bolted in and it still wont start!! i can smell fuel coming through the exhaust so i guess its doing something! Have i blown it up???!!! :( |

has there been any instances where he ecu has just taken a bender like this? the engine warning light is coming up on the dashboard when i try to start it, ive tried leaving the battery off for about half an hour to clear the ecu but its still doing the same thing....... this could be bad............ :( |

i cant Imagen its an electrical problem. i mean Jap electronics are bullet proof. Disconnect the battery and take the ECU out again. check the connectors and make sure everything is tight like it should be then reconnect it and see if it makes a difference. failing that try the toms ECU and see if that works. other than that. take the ECU to a Toyota garage and get them to check it. |

disconnect the battery, connect the ecu, then re-connect the battery again. connect the battery when all is set, disconnecting the ecu when the battery is connected may cause a problem. you may have already done it this way, just a thought. |

FIXED!!!!
I ran a diagnostics check and it told me the crank angle position and rpm sensor wernt working, then i remembered i had a Bee*r limiter installed into the loom! The limiter will only work if it has an input from the two sensors mentioned, now its only supposed to kick in when you turn it on but i thought i might aswell take it off to be sure....ignition lights came on....... rit rit rit rit rit rit BRRRUMMMM!!!!! she started!! so after 24 hours of anger and fault finding i ripped out the limiter for good!! cheers for the help anyway lads |
