the clutch pedal gets a bit loose on these cars sometime but thats about all i know so far. unless its slipping then you need a new one. |

I was having a problem with the clutch cover and when i was trying to reduce speed was too hard to change the gears. I replace the clutch plate the disk and the cover with a new one original from toyota one year ago and now i have similar problems and i cannot understand where is the mistake. Are there anybody which have the same or similar problem? |

won't go into gear at low revs without picking the revs up slightly? |

that sounds like a gear box problem. not a clutch problem. get it into a toyota garage , bite the bullit and pay for them to look at it. its not worth destroying a gear box. |

i doubt its the box, mine did it when i first got the car, put it down to a new clutch bedding in. pretty much stopped now. if its continual its more likely to be someone hasn't aligned the clutch properly and its still biting partially. |

Acesniper saying about the clutch line reminded me of something I've wondered about. Can you get braided clutch lines for the AE111? |

The hydraulic system that links the peddle to the gearbox. Change the gearbox oil to some castrol VMX if it gets better its more a syncro problem. |

if you've recently had a new clutch and its been doing it since then i would suggest going back and getting it re-alligned. |

wont be allignment... you only do this so the gearbox input shaft slides in to the clutch plate easly and the gearbox bolts... Iv done it by finger, or using a 1/2 extention... What grade oil are they using? gearbox's are very picky you must use the right stuff, and to change a clutch you have to remove the gearbox oil.... |

mm, a couple of people have had what has been described when their mechanics have alligned the clutch by sight. most immediatly assumed it was the box but nothing they tried worked. clutch re-alligned with an allignement tool and it was apparently all fine. on the other hand, like ace said, they could have just used the wrong oil when they changed the clutch. changing the oil again will be the cheapest option and it will be a process of elimination. |

wont be allignment as the clutch disc is only attached to the gearbox input shaft, When you put your foot on the clutch peddle it will realease the clutch disc from the flywheel/pressure plate and is free to sit center on the input shaft. Allignment of the clutch plate only aids in re-attaching the gearbox... so when you slide the input shaft into the disc thats clamped on the flywheel the gearbox will slide on and all the bolt holes will be centered to bolt the gearbox back on. If they had the clutch badly out of allignment and forced it to move when trying to bolt the gearbox on the clutch disc could be damaged. Do you have castrol VMX over there? if so use that in the gearbox, or redline 75-90 or lightweight shockproof. You dont have to run a LSD gearbox oil on the factory lsd's as they dont use plates. |
