nice to know more about your engine as well. have read some articles about oil and coolant temp saying some people reckon they shouldnt drive hard or exceed certain rpm before coolant temp reaches normal operating temp, and it suggested that its the oil temp is more important to the engine and oil takes longer to warm up to normal temp or something, but most of cars dont have oil temp guage fitted. anyone heard anything like this before? |

Its basically how you want to treat your car
Easy driving for 10 minutes before going over a self set limit (mentally) etc etcYour car should be warmed up by then

Yeah, I set myself a limit and NEVER exceed 3000rpm in the first 10 minutes of driving
Wouldn't mind some gauges so I have a better idea of what's going on though |

yea them defi guages r class and reay handy 2 hav 4 refrance tis gr8 2 no what temp and pressure ur oil is at wireing of oil guages is an awkward enough thing 2 do due to wher u have 2 put the sensors more than the actual wireing u will need 2 allach dem in through da bottom of da sump , handiest to do this while doin an oil change as 4 not reving until the car is running at correct tempature , oil temp is what u should b goin by , as it is what is circulating through ur engine, 10 mins should be about rite for it 2 be hot enought for high revs as 4 not revin above 3000 for da first 10 mins i dont no how uz can do this i just dont give it abuse in da first 10 mins , up through da gears at max 3000rpm = vry slow :( i think 4500 or so is low enough 2 not cause abuse |

Hi mate OIL TEMP GAUGE/Water Temp Gauge\Oil Pressiure if your gauge has a bulb you will have 5 cables coming out the back of the gauge, 2 for the bulb + and - which i recommend running through a switch before connecting to the dash bulbs as some gauges can be very glareing while driving long journeys, 2 cables for your gauge power supply + and - connect the neg to the nearest earth point on the car and the positive to your ignition 1 sensor cable * route the sensor cable through an available grommet to the engine ensuring it is well clear of any hot areas of the engine, obtain a sandwitch adapter which acts like a double adapter in the house, it basicly a large washer with holes in the sides, of it, the holes in the sides will have little screw caps in them, remove the cap and screw in your sensor, weather it be pressiure or tempature, also before screwing in wrap a layer of seal tape around the sensor threads to help prevent leaks, you remove your oil filter screw the filter on to the sandwitch adapter and the sandwitch adapter screws in to the oil filter hole, the sensor will have 2 cables an earth and a feed connect the earth to the nearest earthing point and the feed to the cable you have routed to the engine area then turn on the egnition and your sorted. if you would like any more info PM me happy to help any1 |
