Good day, I’m relatively new to the forum and own a white 111 BZ-R. It was reputed until last week when I lost my first race to a …naturally aspirated b16a powered CIVIC!!!. This comes after I’ve beaten b18c powered integras and even two turbocharged cars in the last few months. Every time I shift into 3rd gear it “pops out”. The shifter is actually forced out of the gear and if I hold it in place it simply makes a violent and ridiculously loud grating sound…then “pops out” anyway. I’ve noticed though that if I let it pop out, it may stay in gear if I try a second time but not always. So against the civic I jumped from 2nd to 4th and he took me at the end line. Horrible. Oh, and it’s not street racing, it’s done in a controlled environment. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance. Peace. |

sounds like your gears are gone. where do you live? might be easier to just replace the whole gear box.... |

might be selector related? what ever it is it would mean removing the gearbox and pulling it apart to find the issue, and depending on the stuffed part might be easyer to get another gearbox, you could recover some money by selling the lsd out of your stuffed gearbox |

Thanks guys, I spoke to a mechanic yesterday and he said that it may be better to replace gears but he added that it might be the "cable". I don't know much about the gearbox so i'm supposed to be taking the car to him before the weekend. Anyone you know had similar problems though... I recently bought the gearbox out of a crashed levin and although the price was good, I really don't wish to have to replace it right now. |
