hi everyone, just bought a AE111 black top BZ-G,n found it the 3rd gear crunch when i put in 3rd gear quickly but when i do it slowly is ok,than i goto my local garage n change the gearbox oil(Redline oil shock proof )hope it will be ok .Much better but still there!!!! When i lower the gear from 4th to 3rd than crunch!!!!! can anyone help????? i know i will end up rebuild or repair the whole gearbox but anyone help me to find a cheaper way to do it???? also if i find a 2nd hand AE101 sliver top 20v gearbox will it fit???how about a 2nd hand AE111 BZ-R 6 speed gearbox??is it a big job to put the 6 speed box in???please help????im in uk.many thanks |

6speed with fit with work but its weaker. a AE101 box will fit but unless its a facelift one it will have a c52. The syncros are common to c series gearbox's so there not that costly, the $$ is removing the box and pulling it apart. So it will also cost abit to fit a 2nd hand gearbox... that maybe also worn. Id say put a new 2nd and 3rd syncro in |

axels are the same
but you have to mess around with the end mount, and the shifter so it bolts up and works. I think the syncros are around 30-40nzd each here? |

Done here 2 weeks ago with the 6speed gearbox ; the 3rd gear was not functioning at all ; so 2nd gear to 4th gear ; just skipping the 3rd one! the problem was in the Fork ; I went to toyota and buy new one for 20 us$ ! OEM Part Number : 33213-10022 at start you'll feel crunch ; but after doing some miles on it ; it will be just smooth as new ; good luck with that . |

any trans place that has worked on fwd toyotas should be fine, the layout of the box is very common on most fwd toyotas |
