that's not a bubby club racing exhaust spec II since i have got this and doesn't look like that at all....

the photo above is a old model of the apexi exhaust... i forgot what it's called.... it's not N1 exhaust, it's some else....

found it....

it's a model code - YM04570 APEXI GT - SPEC exhaust... the first generation ones so it will look different to the current one...

It's actually called Mega Phone Muffler

BZ-G, is that Apexi's Megaphone design or Cherry bomb or something =|

I know its GT-Spec but what was its design philosophy?

it's a megaphone design.... that term just click a light blub in my head... haven't heard this term for a while... i seen this exhaust on a really old apexi catalog (about 1997) but just couldn't remember anything about it....
megaphone is where the pipe diameter increases a bit from the centre pipe, then where the edge on the stainless cone, and then near the rear of the tail pipe (3 stages), to improve the flow of the exhaust fumes and reduce the pressure... hope i describe it correctly....

also this exhaust was meant to go well together with the apexi 4-1 Spiral manifold...

I thought so!

I remember reading it up in the A'pexi brochure, was it axed because they joined JASMA or was it because of the newer Cherry Bomb design? In any case it'll be interesting to see if anyone has the GT-Spec and Spiral Headers to see the results :D

i think is was deleted due to tread (demand)... since they do want to sell something which is popular... and i think it was time for them to start changing into those cherry bombs and also at a later time need to pass JASMA regulations which was more and more strict in year 2000 to 2004...
Hi can u tellme what is Jasma??

there's usually a rectangular badge written "JASMA" near the tail piece of the exhuast or near the exhuast header on a manifold...

the noise regulation varies from 95db to 98db...

this regulation can also affect some overseas countries too...

Yeah ...u need jasma certified to pass inspection here....some also come with a certificate from the manufacturer that says "this clears inspection" (like HKS, Fujitsubo) some dont (like blitz and buddy club)

that means there a lot of non JASMA exhaust out there in the 2nd hand market/shops up for grabs... which are more noiser and produce more "power"....

like the famous kakimoto racing GT.1 titanium exhaust which produce huge power for turbo cars like the R34 GT-R....
