Do you need it? Will it really make any difference if I take it off? Is it just there to protect your fingers? I can't see the heat from it making that much difference if I'm using the standard airbox instead of an induction intake? |

I think it's just for protection. ie it won't do any damage or hinder performance. I don't have mine on my car. Also it makes it easier to change the oil filter

yes, but if you have aftermarket extractors they may not come with the mounts |

it does make a little difference on the build up of heat in the engine bay if you took it off, but that's about it... i removed my one off too but some bolts are soo tight that you eventually had to break some off due to the heat caused them to bond a bit.... |

Its brackets ontop of the manifold mate so i don't matter, I only got rid of mine when I heat wrapped my mani! |
