Wasn't sure where to put this topic as glass is on boith the inside and outside of the car, but as the wind noise is heard inside then this section is as good as any My car develops moderate but still noticable wind noise over around 80 kmh on the LHS front door glass, in an area above the mirror but towards the top edge of the glass, close to the A pillar. If I lean over whilst driving and apply moderate pressure with my finger to push the glass out a millimetre or so the wind noise stops. There is no similar noise on the drivers side. The rubber seals appear to me to be in good condition Now many moons ago when I had a Subaru, I remember the dealer saying that if the frameless windows caused wind noise, the glass could be adjusted to fix this. How would I go about dixing this? |

not sure about adjusting the glass... but i just changed the rubber door seals for the hell of it since our cars are getting old, so never really notice any wind noise before or after.... |

The deflectors may help but - I have pulled apart my doors and found I needed to take care adjusting the glass positioning upon reassembly. The door windows are attached to a metal runner upon which its slides up and down on. At the base of this metal runner are two bolts which screw in near the centeral base of the door. These two screws can adjust the tilt of the metal runner (move towards and away from the cabin) so the glass can fit very snug against the rubber trim. |

seal actually has a tear in it at the rear corner of the drivers window from someone forcing something in to try and pop the locks. is why the black bit is bent aswell so i'd rather just replace both of them with new items. |

wind deflectors are double taped and cliped on the outer piece of rubber, so it doesn't really affect the door seals or wind noise, unless there is a gap in the place where the wind delfectors are secured, best way to find the gap is to run a garden hose on top of the wind deflector and see if it leaks through since that gap can make whistle sounds... |

dont have the wind deflectors. the rt of mine that is bent is the factory plastic strip that runs along the length of the windows.... |

i'm having a similar problem also, after replacing my smashed passenger window, when going above 50km/h i get wind noise from a gap that has appeared where the bottom corner edge of the window meets the seal of the B pillar. it is an actual gap where water is able to seep in, this was confirmed after washing the car, the inside of the window where the gap was, was wet Edited by n2o, Oct 6 2008, 01:21 PM.

sorry to bring this thread up again but you may be able to adjust the window stopping height by removing the door card and you will notice an oval type hole covered with a clear tape with a yellow dot in the center of it, remove the tape and there will be a 10mm bolt where if you untighten it, it will slide down in its slot but will not fall in. You can then slide the window stopper up or down to your desired height then tighten the bolt back up. repeat this on the opposite side of the door. after removing this to get my window reg out and did not adjust this to the correct height i have noticed the wind noise but i haven't got around to fixing this. |
