the blacktop is already able to run @ 8000rpm @ 11:1 compression

if you want to remove the rev limiter without proper mods, be prepared to look for a new engine
lol i was just gona say that, first thing first the valves will get f***ed up

Needs to Try Harder
Is the question remove REV limit using GReddy or Speed Limit? Why would you want to remove the rev limit..sure you can hike it up a bit, but as mentioned removing it and prepare for an almighty bang...at some point

I'm revving my car to 8500 rpm due to my mine's ecu. I have stock valves, and i do not have any probs..
for how long ru doin this? and did yoou say your reving with stock ecu? i passed 8000 rpm by accident twice and the limiter clicked in right after 8000 so how did you manage to rev at 8500rpm on stock ecu? i would believe all bzr ecu is the same init?
Read it properly lad.

Mines is a tuning company, they have tweeked the standard ecu to help you gain some power, higher rev limit etc
That's right buddy. I changed my ECU with a MINE'S ECU! the limit now is at 8500rpm. My brother has a Cerumo ECU (Like mine's ecu, but programmed by cerumo japan) and has no limit!!! He went once over 9500rpm and he stop pushing it any more!!!

Sorry guys, when I mean remove rev limit I should actually say I want to increase the rev to around 9500k and see how it goes and just for a bit of fun.

As acesniper said, my engine is not stock.

also the rods are silvertop rods shot peaned with ARP rod bolts, so I've got safety side of things sorted.

Any ideas???

un limit it with a new ecu.

he would have needed a new engine cause a conrod would have snapped and let the piston fly up and take out the valves. as said its the conrods that are the issue, valves are fine... although over 9k you might want stronger valve springs.

@ BZR4AGE: You need a new ECU

@ Z33kdud3: more revs, more power means you want more upgrades!! Conrods, valves and sometimes new pistons!!

hold up hold up, i was told that the stock 20valve system is very weak, especially for the blacktop, is that true or false? up to where the stock valves can rev without any problems? and is there any way you can rev higher than 8000rpm on stock ecu? please tell me i want to know because this seems interesting B)
lad i would touch the rev limiter on a stock engine,no matter what people say toyota tested these engines out,and put that limit there for a reason.plus ur vvt drops of and ul lose power after 8000rpm if u do end up doing it with a stock engine.

guys... his engines not stock ;)

has toda catalog inside...
cams, springs, gears, 82mm pistons, TRD heady
balanced with silvertop rods....

I know silvertop rods will hold a constant 9000rpm.

btw I wouldn't race blacktop rods over 7500 let alown 8500 for any time duration with ecu or not :/ I used to push my blacktop (std rods) to 9000rpm but that wasn't on a track... do it on a track it would pop...

And whats up with the valve comment? im using stock valves 12.2:1 comp over 10mm lift and pushed to 10,000rpm.
ace are you saying its not safe to put the stock blacktop engine past 7500, i have been pushing the bt engine right up to its limit at 7800rpm

and another thing, i have a friend that over rev his blacktop engine once and f***ed up all the valves because he took off that big black intake box at the back and got excited of the more power he gained and was not paying attention to his rev meter and over revved it, he had to buy a new engine so how can you explain that? i really want to know the limit these valves can take, but then again as i said earlier, i passed 8000rpm about twice in my car and as soon as i got there, the limiter clicked in and i lost power, so is it possible to reach further? is there something you can eliminate to pass 8000rpm?
do u mean he just took of the stock air box,and left the intake system open to debris, like did he have toda trumpets,or he just took of the stock air box :idk: ,
he fabricated an piping system over it

you can get the rev limiter moved to where ever you want it realy. but it's isn't worth it.
if you do i would only move it up by a few hundred rpm at a time. around 9000rpm should be safe enough as you still have a limiter to stop you totaly f**cking up your engine.
i would focus on more power rather then the rev limit tbh
the japanese has a reason why they redlined it at 8000rpm, anything over, it will proberly last a while but not too long, less life lasting lol

they dont make power after that look at dyno plots they drop off... due to cams peeking and everything else been at the limit.

You can rev blacktops... hence i put a stock one to 9000rpm for around 2years with no breakage but you do it on a race track its so much more harsher than just reving through the gears then popping it outa gear to slow. they will snap.

The engine above would be safe to sit on 9000rpm all day, he just wants to know how to remove the limit on the e-manage ... iv had a quick look and it wouldn't do it.
iight cool, understood

Sorry guys, maybe I didn't make myself clear at first.

My engine is not stock and has the following:

TODA 272 9mm lift intake cams
TODA 264 9mm lift exhaust cams
TODA 12:1 high compression forged piston
TODA uprated valve spring
TODA adjustable cam gears
Silvertop 4age conrods shot peaned with ARP rod bolts

and

E-MANAGE Ultimate.

I am aware of safety issues, and I believe i have that all covered already.
I am aware that with my setup my peak power comes before the rev limit

the reason for raising the rev limit is because my peak comes at around 7800, and the engine starts cutting at 8000 at the moment, so I want to raise it to 8500 to 9000rpm, so it won't cut before I shift.

so my question is,

has anyone sucessfully removed the rev-limit on the blacktop 4age with a E-manage ultimate??? if yes, can they provide a screenshot or some kind of direction for me???

Cheers
i cant answer your question but i hope someone will but on the other hand thats some wicked mods you got there man, ru into drag racing or putting down a time? got any pics of your ride? and is it only toda make these parts or toda is just the best?
