since there's an interest in customizing the headers at thread by import_trung/solid fab... http://s15.zetaboards.com/AE111_Forum/topic/6612475/1/ --> import_trung/solid fab --> can i know what's the length and size that you planned for 4AGE? this has been covered by Bill Sherword and Mr Chin (Acoustic) in their site relating to the exhaust length calculations. in fact Mr Chin already done his, giving a smoother ride. can i know what's the best length and size for street optimization? http://www.billzilla.org/engexhaust.htm http://www.my-acoustic.com/Car/intake_exhaust/exhaust/exhaust.htm my email with Mr Chin suggest this options... No.1 - 4-2-1 setup - Primary length 1.3m and secondary 0.65m - Size for both primary and secondary to be 1.5" - size 2.3" after secondary until muffler No.2 - 4-2-1 setup - Primary internal diameter 1.5" with length 1.3m - Secondary 1.7" with length 0.65m - size 2" until the muffler appreciate views... |

i don't know the lengths but i know that toda racing always enlarge the diameter in the sections... like from 45mm to 50mm to 55mm or straight to 60mm... everytime you enlarge the diameter you provide extra flow out and less back pressure... |

did he specifically say what kind of bending to use in the exhaust pipes? crush/mandrel/mandrel welding? and what are the differences in gains between the two setups? |

there isn't a 1 size fits all, as cam lift and duration, intake runner length and other factors affect header design. theory will only get you so far, the rest is practical trial and error. |
