the heat shield that runs along under the floor pan & fuel tank has been causing a lot of vibration noise, ive been under a couple of times its not hanging off just dosent seem to have enough fixing points to stop it flapping about, the Q is what will happen if i just take if off, fuel tank get too hot? cabin get too hot? has anyone removed theirs? if so what happened ?

heat shield under the car is usually to protect the chassis and fuel tank from getting too hot, if you remove them then it "might" be hazardous to the fuel tank or electrical stuff and pipe in the chassis....
you could use pot rivet to secure them back on or if you want to replace them, then at least put some heat shield cloth to replace it instead...

have you checked why the shield is loose?
might just be a few bolts that needs tightening... or just missing a few bolts

thanks guys, no bolts missing or loose but I agree taking it off probly not a great idea, so yes ill just drill up into the bottom of the fuel tank and pop rivet it to that, JUST KIDDING , what i will do is turn the edges up 90 degrees or so to make it more rigid see if that works cheers

putting a hole in the tank... near a hot exhaust... seems rather dangerous to me. you were joking right?
