i posted about this in a gearbox thread but didnt get a reply since my 6 speed gearbox shit itself i decided to convert it to 5 speed as it was cheaper and the box better suits my driving style so any hu i swapped the two gearboxes only to find that i cant get 5th or reverses gear myself and twincam20 think the 6 speed gear linkages are differrent can anyone confirm this?

I think you have to modify the linkage, im pretty sure it was discussed in the last thread though |

yeay, you will face that problem coz you're still using the 6spd linkage. you need to change or modify the linkage...

problem solved i cut some plastic around the shifter that was stopping the gear stick moving far enough to the right to engage 5th and reverse
