myself and twincam 20 were getting some parts today,we talking to the guy that owns the parts shop he seemed to know a bit about the 20v 4age, he said if you disconnect the o2 sensor that the ecu wont self learn and therefore wont reject piggy back ecu's ect anyone have any thoughts on this?

Needs to Try Harder
I'm sure that in the 10-15 odd years the AE111 has been around someone would have tried this....it would be common knowledge if t was that easy...

Aren't lambda and o2 sensors the same thing?
If it's disconnected, where does that required info come from? Do you connect the o2 sensor to the piggyback?

removing it will cause the engine to run rich and idle/cruse fuel economy will be badly reduced.

A o2 sensor has no effect on the ecu maps after a certain load point... (eg wide open throttle is a pre set fuel map and the inputs have little effect, engine temp and tps are the main inputs.

Also the reason the ecu's outsmart simple interceptor type devices is beacuse they base their decisions on a range of data being collected from a range of sensors.

Guess it could have been worth a try!
