AceSniper - Good day...just a bit curios regarding the C56/C160 Torsen part... Was it supposed to fall under Viscous LSD ? not Torsen ? Correct me if i'm wrong ? Because i'm using one from C56, and put it C52... here's the photo of it...

no 4age's came with Viscous lsd... they are fluid based ae101 gze came with them in a E series box and 4efte starlets come with them in c52/c56 but the housings differ and cant be put onto a 4age. The teeth get munched like that when your 6speed fails.... mix of things can cause it, just that gear is narrower than a 5speed so weaker. |

depends on if you have one already or not.. and what type of lsd you put in... and what you use your car for, eg daily driver, drag racer, track car etc... a lsd puts power to both drive wheels which improves grip in a straight line, reduces understeer in corners and if the diff works on decelleration it will steady the car on breaking and entry to a corner, it allows you to get the arse of the car to go out a little bit rather than understeer. |

thanks for that explanation, i was thinking replace the factory lsd and go for the trd type and see what difference i get in performance |

im no expert on lsd's so any corrections to what i said are welcome!! well if you have one already i don't think you'd really have any need for a trd one, it wont make the car any faster as such. just more controllable in hard cornering... they're expensive and there's a bit of work in fitting one so personally wouldn't bother unless shes a full blown track car.. that's just my opinion.. |

Actually, you find that sometimes in some situation it will in fact make your understeer more pronounce. LSD doesn't always fight off understeer just like swaybars, if you go the wrong type/size you'll create a stronger sense of understeer. Depending on speed, type of LSD (helical, mechanical 1-way, mechanical 1.5-way, mechanical 2.0-way) they all act differently in some situations. Z33kdud3 - Read around manufacturers as they provide lots of information, its better than us telling you - http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogue/efr_set-from_top-menu/efr_index_t-trax-ad_rset_2.htm Thats just one of the many manufacturers ![]() Happy hunting! |

a plate lsd will give you the joys of a "locked" diff at slow speed... so heaps of fun in car parks.... But I do like them over the std item due to the pre-load and both wheels are doing the same speed were as std swap around a little causing torque steer |

thats wut i hate with our stock lsd's my driveway is kinda funny where you find one side of the car lifts up while the other side is on the ground then the wheel starts to spin which is something bad for the gearbox right? |
