Different length for trumpet setup; could it work?

Hey, im sure all you know how the length effects the hp or torque gain of the trumpets right?

So instead of having all equal length say 50mm, why not have the centre trumpets as 50mm and the out sides 20mm,

Do you reckon this would achieve anything? Or just make the ECU
think wtf is going on?

I wouldn't have thought this would be an ideal set-up.

Because as one piston is in it's "power zone" another is outside of it's zone, therefore dragging the performance down. Like having a miss down low in a car that should have great torque down low.

I could be completely wrong in my thinking, but i'm sure someone will back me up with my theory

Think you would get into mixture problems as you will be getting varying amount of air over the cyl's and the ecu fuels all of them the same.

Uneven length runners are used to broaden the torque delivery. Seen it on V8s quite a bit, but not so much on a 4 banger.
