ight my exhaust tip had a slight break a while back now, it's an upgraded catback exhaust tip, anyways it ended up hangging yesterday so i pulled it off, the car is a lil bit louder you will not even realize it sometimes but most of all it's like ive gain more hp, i went for a drive down the road and it's the quickest ive seen my rpm shoots up and it's more aggressive have any one had any experience with this before? so that pipe tip i would say has bin holding it back huh? wut you mean dude? |

i think he means that there is no actual gain in HP, its your brain thats making you think it has. i would have to agree, an exhaust tip isn't exaclty a huge bottle neck on the exhaust system, so the effect of removing it will have next to no effect Edited by n2o, Aug 5 2009, 01:37 PM.

Don't need to try it, its your brain mate =) Its like when you put on a pod filter, makes a lot of noise, sounds faster especially when you accelerate hard but does nothing

Removing the Cat should make a few more hp as the oem cat is quite restrictive. Get yourself a de-cat pipe and you will feel the difference for sure

placebo effect. Changing something then "thinking" it performs better purly because you changed something. Best way to tell if you actually get gains from mods is by back to back dyno runs. |

^^^ Bingo ![]() If you're talking about Catalytic Converter, then possibly gain something, but if you're talking about the Axle-Back exhaust, then highly doubt it =) |

Only down side is cost of doing dyno runs. That's why i brought a G-Tech timer that (once you enter car weight) can do power runs. Again theres a down side with these things - they rely on G's and arn't acurate for small changes. Also if you get you car on a dyno you can check AFR's! |
