the only thing you need to change is the top gearbox mount or modify it and you need to modify the gearstick too |

my 6 is fit for the bin, grinds in all gears and doesnt go into 2 and 3 at all |

Wouldn't do that, at least pull the LSD out of it.... you cant wast that fit it to your 5speed or sell it $$$

c&p prob stuffed out then the bits found there way though the gearset an stuffed them |

thats what happened alright, i have half the syncros for 2nd and 3rd, anyone know how much the c&p costs? might go for a rebuild on the box if its not to much |

its expensive for both parts And the pinion gear is part of the output shaft so not only that needs to be changed but all the gears have to be removed and changed over... but its possible the broken parts have gone through your gears and stuffed the gearset also you wouldn't know until you dismantled it. Its worth pulling apart and removing the lsd though an checking its alright, to re-use or to sell as it fits a huge range of Toyota fwd cars in the corolla/starlet range |

This is from a old 5 speed but see the gear on the right side/end this strips and its part of the whole output shaft, so you would have to replace that and the gear on the diff, If your other gears haven't been damaged ![]() |

Is it possible to do this opposite, changing from a 6 speed gear box to a 5 speed gear box, are there many modification to do? or you just gotta simply swap the 6 speed gear box and replace it with a 5 speed box? Thanks |
