Well I replaced my clutch back at the end of april (changed from slipping trd heavey duty clutch to carbon kevlar clutch that the machanic recommended) about 6,000km later the clutch has competly shat itself. Took it to my new mechanic and he ripped it out and showed me and honestly I've never seen a clutch so shaged my last one wasn't as bad. So anyway wondering what kind of kms should be expected to get from a clutch as I am trying to get Consumer Guarantees Act to back me. According to my mechanic its either due to abuse bad install or dodgy part Anyway I am not happy as my car has just had 4k of work done :( car has trd lightend flywheel lsd gearbox plus verious other bits. Cheers |

do you have receipts? have you talked to the installer? As the clutch it self should have a warranty. How has it failed? pic? |

at a glance I would say its a badly made clutch or a bad combo as that heavy cover would have clamped so hard and quick its torn the lining off. what brand is the flywheel? If I was you id stick for a exedy or oem. after having quite a few brands balanced up the exedy comes out on top, the repco ones (pbr) are alright but markup is to high Edited by AceSniper, Sep 4 2009, 06:12 AM.

No idea what brand and don't want to bad mouth them until they wont cover it grrr and the mechanic recommended them so yeah. Flywheel is a trd 4.8kg flywheel that is now f**ked and can't be remechined so that another 1k that will need to be spent also the engine seal has gone because the clutch chewed it. heavy lol but not as heavy as with the trd clutch its hard to describe. But when I got it back the clutch was so limp just before it started slipping so I'm not impressed. |
