Hi guys hope you can help(Acesniper lol), My mate is in a tight spot, he has a silvertop engine ready to go in his mr2, prob is he can't find the throttle bodies, will a set of blacktop ones fit??? Also could he use the blacktop ecu on the silvertop engine with the BT itb's and get rid of the afm? Cheers |

i'm pretty sure the bt throttles will fit but the bt ecu.. it'll work but he'll have to modify the loom then, and make sure he gets the map sensor from the bt even so due to internal hardware differences between the engines, the bt ecu may not be the best... |

blacktop ecu runs a silvertop no problem you will need a blacktop loom or use a silvertop loom and change the plugs to the blacktop ones and change the afm wires to map and air temp wires. the map sensor is common toyota part... same as any other n/a (know for sure all map A series engines are the same (4afe)) The blacktop throttles will bolt up and run... but it wont have the best flow... you can grind the silvertop ports out a bit to help smooth things out... silvertop std manifold to ports is kinda shit. Using a blacktop manifold gasket and rounding/smoothing out the transfer things will be good. |

Also having the blacktop throttles means if you come across a blacktop head later on you can whack that on and end up with a blacktop with a strong bottom.... the gain in blacktop is the port flow |

if it doesnt fit, just get some reducers or expanders, like a collar from a 4" waste pipe etc |

Wouldn't we need to see it in order to see if'll fit or not? Silvertop has an airflow meter, but i imagine it would be fine at the plenum end. |
