did u notice much difference in responsiveness?
I noticed a pretty significant difference between replacing my air inlet with the foglight, especially on hot days.

maybe you can leave it like that for track/drag days and then cover it up for street use with the fog light....
yea think i would :)
The light is easy to just pop in and out anyway.

Must be the less than awesome spray can job I did on the bumper a frax. ;)

you'll get at least another 3hp from cold air getting into that fog light hole and also, the faster you go, the more cold air will be forced into it too, which means faster you go the more hp you'll get......

I'm wondering about what sort of intake I should run with. It's completely factory for now, and the intake seems to be the easiest modification to start with. My family owns a light engineering workshop, so I'm not against making up a cold air intake leading to an Apexi or similar pod filter, but how will that benefit versus an Apexi panel filter replacement?

Cheers :)

and you do the cuting yourself? wat you use to join the pipes together?
yeah cut it your self. Use silicone joiners to join it. Like on intercooler piping

Cold air feed to stock plenum with stock trumpets. Unless you have played around with the head/cams/ecu you'll just end up loosing power

so cold air intake better how about no trumpets in the plenum

Because its bad for performance mmk. Trumpets are there to help guide the air into the throttles.

why do i have to
Because Toyota spent countless man hours designing the airflow of the Blacktop and programmed the ECU for the specific airflow that the trumpets and plenum provide.

You may meet people who tell you that they gained power by removing the plenum or trumpets, more than likely they haven't got a clue what they're talking about

I thought that gained power by changing my trumpets and running them open but then again I was very slow when climbing hills without the box over the trumpets :'( so do as the guys say and run Cold Air Feed to the Plenum. It worked for me. I removed my Airbox to have it painted and now have the coil air from my forlight running next to the ITBs.

The trumpets direct the air to the throttle bodies. Try running it with different setups to see which works best. Time it or check the speed on a stretch of road and use the best setup that works.

well the throttle bodies suck in air so the air isnt going to go in a different direction it doest matter if the trumpets are there or not.

By all means be our guest run without trumpets. But while your going through the fiddley pain in the arse task of taking off the plenum to remove the trumpets just remember its going to be just as much a pain in the arse when you have to do it all over again to put to put them back in.

Yes the throttle bodies suck in air. Trumpets are there to help the throttle bodies suck in as much air as possible. Without trumpets most of the air will miss the intake manifold. Your car will run about as good as a dead horse compared to running with trumpets.

It's all about flluid dynamics dynamics mate. Without trumpets, your car will get less air. Trumpets are there to direct the air into the engine

Think it is there to keep the noise down/change the tone. Just whip it out Taz. If you are making one out of the prelude CAI I can measure up the straight bit you have to use with it as I have mine fitting perfect now.
