the only way you can mount like he did is if you own an AE86 chassis, the ae111 engine bay is tight as it is |

You can see from the pics that the engine is mounted longitudinally (AE86) not transverse (as in the AE111), so there is heaps of room for the 4 bike filters to be fitted....you could go instead for the single foam ITG filter set up with Imec trumpets beneath.. search for threads on this... |

its easily doable but not very ideal.... mainly caus the air near that area is pretty hot.. a wrx type of scoop will help a bit if you really want to run that kind of setup.. also the filter does disrupt the airflow.. thats why toyota positioned the filter far away from the throttle bodies.. |

open quads kill your low end as the plenum helps scavenge air keeping the air flowing in, like headers help suck ex out |

Unless you have filters on each trumpet, or a filter covering all four, shit will get sucked in and you sure as hell don't want rain and road debris flying into you engine |

@Juiced4speed have you noticed any difference regards noise, fuel economy, power, torque etc. Do you stick with the stock trumpets and do you need to modify them in any way? Always considered doing this mod but a lack of knowledge about it put me off a pic and any insightful info would be cool

those filters will give you nothing but noise, know of a car that was dynoed with them on and was very under powered |

Get some stacks and then go to Demon tweeks or somewhere similar and buy four K&N motorbike filters |

Yep, can vouch for that. Got a mate with throttle bodies on his pug 106 and he thought it would be safe not to have filters. Been about 2-3 months and the engine is blown |

what your loking for are called velocity stacks...techno toy tuning in america do them but they are not a brilliant power mod, often blacktops loose power because they just suck hot air @civicsluvit: ya i like the idea of some sort of scoop to sort this orblem, dunno wud it look rite tho??

that pipe is a breather for the engine, so if you remove that pipe from the rocket cover, then you need to fit a small filter or an oil catch can... |

since you're from cork... have a read of the above comments who recommend Demon Tweeks and Imec (online search)... depending on your budget, you can also go to this link: Link to aftermarket parts.... check out the links to other online shops and see what you want... |
