Whats the story with these in our cars? Should there be a little lever, (usually beside the one for the petrol cap), that ya can pull to open the boot so ya dont have to use the key to open the boot? All thats in mine is the lever for the petrol cap. Did our cars not come with these or is it just mine that doesnt have one??

Its a 97 BZ-R. Chassis code confirms it. Thought it was unusual that it didnt have one. Kinda annoyin havin to use the key anytime ya want somethin out of the boot. Maybe whoever had it in Japan didnt like it for some reason?? Or maybe they broke it and couldnt be arsed replacing it?? |

Does it look like the handle has broken off? Just that it's possible someone has broken it and couldnt be bothered fixing / telling the owner they broke it etc. Pop the boot and have a look to see if the cable is still in there. |

I'd definitely say it was broken. I know from experience as I broke mine getting in and out of the car, (Probably because I'm on the taller side) it's surprisingly easy to do. Fortunately isn't all that hard to fix. I just went down to the local wreckers and got a new handle assembly only took about ten mins to put it in. Also have a look at how big the gap is on either side of where the handle comes out of the car. If its significantly bigger on one side that should let you know. When mine broke it broke right up inside there so the only sign was the gap. |
