hi iv just been told that the standerd ecu, in 20v blacktops levin / trueno have 2 settings, nd that if u bring it to a toyota dealer they cn set it to level 2 for u,, cn any1 confirm this??????? |

never heard of it. All i know is that it is a self learning ECU, so it adjust its own maps based on readings from oxy sensor and knock i think. But no, don't think it has two levels. |

not sure about levels in stock ecu... but Blacktop do have 2 version ecu for manual... 6spd and 5spd...

Yup most ECU's are like this.You'll have open loop and closed loop operation. When foot up it the ECU resorts back to a preprogramed setting of ignition timing and fuel as it figures you don't give a crap about economy. Partial throttle (such as when driving quietly through town) the ECU will take note of the O2 sensor and determin optimum fuel etc. Thats why some with stock ecu's will reset it every now and then or if going to do a drag race etc. So that the ECU will go back to original timing as a posed to an ecu with logged detonation etc which has slowly pulled a bit of timing out to keep the engine in safe operation
