No, just unplug it so the light on the dash doesn't come on. I just tells you that the cat is hot... Some levins come without them. |

nah chap. i've decated it and i've read somewhere that the cat temp sensor is like a secondery o2 sensor, which helps the ecu work out the temp of the gases. it gives you low rpm torque and power. mine got sliced by the mechanic! (ratass!) so now when i put my foot down, up until 4000rpm, the car holds back quite a bit and i can smell petrol issuing from the exhaust. thanx to Ae111blast, i now have one and will soon fit it on inside the decat pipe. |

it wont be your issue. put a multimeter onit and heat it up... its just a switch. Your car would of been over fueling before the cat removal just now the cat isnt burning up that extra fuel. Depends were its happening.. could be a dead oxy... if the people doing the de cat hit the pipe or were abit rough it can blow the heater. If your cat overheat light is off on the dash don't worry about the temp pickup.... its wired straight to the dash doesn't feed into the ecu at all. Edited by AceSniper, Oct 31 2008, 11:16 PM.

As said above you dont need it. Just plug it out or stuff it in between the heatsheild. Where have you got it at the moment? |

i'm guessing when the guys who fitted the decat, they cut the temp sensor off.. since that's what happened to my one too... i think you can unplug a fuse or something to get rid off the light?!?! |

the one on the manifold is the o2 sensor... and the cat temp should be under the gear lever area... |
