9,500rpm on stock internals.... not the best idea! Sounds like the Tom's, Mines etc equivalent which are tuned in Japan |

It's an Imec ECU buddy. The same company that makes the trumpets for our car. There is an AE111 tuned by Imec in youtube. Search for it |

aka Hyper Rev 4...

what year/model is your car? my 4th gear goes up to 200km/h (5spd box) and it's stock ecu and gearbox... i assume yours is 6spd then? since all you're doing to get more speed is rev higher beyond 8000rpm... since at 9500rpm the speed will be higher but after a month of 9500rpm on stock internals... just have a tow truck number handy... if it's i.mec ecu then it's a reprogammed ecu/chipped from japan... |

yeah it seems like i.mec product... similar to mine's, tom's, blitz, c-one... all preprogammed ecu from JDM tuner... |

Apart from japan, I doubt you can get them retuned easily. I am sure a computer wiz can change the data if they have the hardware, but then again, a computer wiz is not a car tuner. based on Hyper Rev mag, the ECU was tuned for 272 cams in and ex, 0.8 headgasket, and some sort of piston. My Jap is not that good. But I would say don't rev it too much pass 8K, unless you want to see conrods flying out your block. |

nop can't be tuned locally... the settings are done by I.mec so only they can do it... therefore have to ship it back to japan and info them of your mods so they can modify the settings to suit your car only... if you put it onto your car with the incorrect settings then sooner or later your engine will die due to incorrect info sent to the ecu... |

recently I found that you can still order pre-programmed ecu under Blitz Access... thru this website http://takakaira.com/main.aspx... |

Just get an ECU that can be locally tuned to your conditions, all the pre-programmed ECUs are for Japanese conditions, you have no idea what damage its doing to your car. Just ask the guys that drive Turbocharged cars with Japanese Chip/ROM-Tuned ECUs, they ping the living crap out of their engines... |

Thought that was to do with fuel available locally vs Japan? In Japan they have better fuel than in places such as Australia (didn't they ban ethonal fuels because the man caught wind of performance gains? ) and NZ.Lower octane = greater chance of pinking + 9,500rpm = bang! |

just drop the dizzy timing back... as you can reduce *deg off everything the ecu feeds. played with timing on a std silvertop on dyno.... was no gain by advancing it... cause you just run into deto then the ecu pulls timing worse than if you just ran less to start with. 20v ecu's run heaps of timing down low (were it detonates) then not enough up top... but you cant deal to that on a std ecu |

i have an i.mec ecu got it really cheap, i opened it up two chips stacked on eachother and a sticker on it said ...264x2.. these are the cams i think (in and out)? if i were to buy cams and springs to suit would it work properly without using jap fuel as all is avaliable is 95?
