Hi guys, just wondering if any of you knew the best way to fix up my rear can... the hanger bracket has completely rusted through, so the silencer just dropped out of it the other day, the whole exhaust looks fine, its just the crummy bracket that has corroded. might ask my bro to try welding it up, but have been advised to get quick fit to just fix it back in place with a similar hanger bracket. if anyone has had something similar happen ide be interested to hear what you did... at the mo my rear silencer is help up with temporary loops of wire. im sure you must be able to get generic hanger brackets!? or maybe a spot of welding is in order... thanks. |

that's happened to me before.. mine snapped when i was in mooney mooney... drove 40 min home with ehxaust half hanging, the exhaust mount before the cat was ripped badly after that. i just used cloth hanger and bend it to shape, use that as replacement for the bottom of the exhaust hanger so it'll hold for the meanwhile before i got the new exhaust... any exhaust place can figure out a fix for you.... some can make custom bracket, or you can even weld hangers on the muffler, get new hanger rubber.. Any decent fabricator would be able to make a bracket much cheaper. And You may have to buy the whole box from toyota. Go custom

sounded like a easy fix but took longer than i thought! the nut and bolt were rusted together so had to cut them off and just went to DIY shop and get a roll of galvanised steel and used that!!! proper job |

I just suffered the same problem, exhaust fell off coming out of a shopping centre in xmas shopping traffic. Currently my back box is being held up with the input cable from a Marshall amplifier! Getting some confused looks im sure but f*ck it it doesnt rattle anymore! |
