what causes your vvt to cut in late? meaning a riend of mine got a levin as well and you use to feel it at exactly 4400rpm but now it's delaying at about 5500 or so ^o)

what grade oil is he using? is it a thick oil or is the oil old?
fuel filter could be dirty causing a slight hesitation you might pick up as just kicking in

bad oil pressure.
faulty connector for the VVT Valve
faulty VVT Valve
loose VVT Valve
bad air flow causing the engine to slack.
