Just did a bit of research and found this, if any one thinks its incorrect feel free to add. C160 (6speed ratios) 1st Gear - 3.166 2nd Gear - 2.050 3rd Gear - 1.481 4th Gear - 1.166 5th Gear - 0.916 6th Gear - 0.725 Reverse - 3.250 Final drive : 4.529 Speed@RPM (C160) 1st gear 65km/h at 8300rpm 2nd gear 95km/h at 8300rpm 3rd gear 135km/h at 8300rpm 4th gear 170km/h at 8300rpm 5th gear 190km/h at 8300rpm 6th gear 100km/h at 3000rpm |

These figures are the ratio to which the engine turning speed is ajusted to get the most out of it. For example the natural speed of any engine in comparison to da gearbox would be 1:1 , but as u can c from these figures 1:1 would be some where between 4th and 5th, emagine what would hampen if u tried to take of in ur car in either one of dem gears ? unless u have serious torque it just isnt goin to hampen the figure ther for 1st gear for example 3.166 this means for every 3.166 turns u r puttin down 1 turn . hope u understand what i mean |

hi guys i change from 6 speed gear box to 5 but i am not sure what the gear box i got came from (i think is a starlet) the gears a so long i wanna know what the closest gear box in terms or ratio to a 6 speed. |

None LOL Of the Toyota C series... C56 I 'think' has the most suitable gear ratios and has aftermarket gear to close it down further if you so wish. If it came out of a Starlet, chances are that its a C52, which has a longer 3rd + 4th + Final than the C56... Makes it feel lazy =P Edited by DreadAngel, May 28 2011, 03:32 PM.
