Im looking at getting some gauges and was wondering where everyone else has mounted their gauges? cos as we all know gauges not done right can look fairly ugly. so if you have some gauges in you 111 can you post up some pics? |

![]() In my sedan its where the stereo would be in your car so not ideal. I always like seeing one or two on top of the steering coloumn. Nice and easy to see and if placed correctly doesn't block anything |

Defi Din Gauge = EXPENSIVE, and if I remember correctly their price excludes sensors! and their sensors are EXPENSIVE! just got oil pressure and oil temp from autometer. Pro Sport series - pretty basic nothing fancy, just needed something for trackdays. $250NZD delivered...electric gauge too! will post pics once wired |

ARC made a rear veiw mirror guage holder designed to hold four 60mm diameter guages.... It would mean you have no centre rear veiw mirror of course but thats minor detail Edited by 1i1, Feb 17 2010, 01:05 AM.

Defi certainly make good gauges. Greddy smi and Defi dasy chain gauges pretty much run all the same internals, sensors and control units. Cost me about $350 NZ all up. Here is my setup: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Defi make OEM and aftermarket... They supply from memory Nismo, Mugen, TRD, I 'think' STi to name a few aftermarket guys. They're not overpriced for what they are. Yes you can get an cheaper 'defi' style or what not. But the nightmares and issues I've dealt with when helping people install them just meh... Takes the shine of the price when you start spending more money to install it only to find out something needs to be replaced etc. |

Defi of course of an excellent brand but not worth the price imo, I mean you can get equal quality for much less! People get hung up about the brand names and as a consequence these companies can sell for a very strong price! I'd probably go for something like Autometer or similar personally, kind of a middle of the range set up. |

Shop around for Defi 2nd hand, as long as the wiring and sensors aren't butchered, you'll get top stuff for a good price. As a Defi owner, you don't have to worry too much about price depreciation unless you've got a really old/unpopular model. |

Right lads went to fit a Greddy gauge for a friend yesterday but I'm missing few pieces. The gauge is to be used a an oil temp gauge but theres cut wires and sendors missing so I just want a few pointers Is it possible for new senders and connections?or would it just be easier for him to use it as a water temp gauge I think a few lads on the sit e have these gauges there a similar system to defi links. Any help appreciated ![]() ![]() |

Red from the gauge connect to the constant 12v Connect Orange & White wire from the gauge together then connect them to the an ignition triggered wire wire. Black from the gauge connect to an earth All wires can be found in the stereo loom. Just get a new temp sensor. (water / oil temp use the same sensor) any defi or greddy one will work. |

Perfect Thanks for that Does this gauge need to be connected up to a control box like a defi or is it possible to use solo? Sorry for all the question rob but can you get me a pic of the sensor I need? I have a pic here but I think this one i wrong http://www.myhotmazda.com/Greddy/Performance-Accessories/Universal-Greddy-Oil-&-Water-Temp-Sensor-_-16401304/803522/ Edited by taz-20v, Aug 23 2011, 05:08 PM.

For those particular gauges the sensor and power just plug straight into the gauge. (no control box) That is the correct sensor the defi ones have the same plug but are a bronze colour.
