When I bought my car, it had the inlet plenum removed and the standard stacks turned upside down and left open. I've noticed the car has been running rough, seems really rich and jerky at low rpms. I bought some T3 velocity stacks but if anything it's worse. I also noticed the power steering feels quite hit and miss in terms of assistance. There are 2 vaccum pipes just been left to vent to the atmosphere, the one for the power steering and a smaller one i'm not sure what it does. What do people usually do with those pipes? My car feels alot slower than my old AE101 silvertop. |

well, my advice is find yourself an intake plenum, had mine off before and had the funnels normal, and turned around, and the car was seriously underpowered without the plenum.. the car shouldnt feel slower than an ae101, see if you can find yourself a plenum, will make a mighty difference... |

try putting back the plenum back and reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery or pulling out the fuse for the EFI in the fuse box. |

My car is running a bit better now, think the ECU has learned. Thinking of trying out the trumpets again with some decent cold air feeds. Wondering what the answer to my original question is. What happens to the vaccum pipes that used to go to the plenum, things like the power steering pipe. Are they just left to vent to the atmosphere? |
