... It's so cool ! ...
Hi Guys,

Would like to make a formal topic on Gearbox Oil amount.

C160
C56

For LSD and non LSD.

From the information I have read the ranges are 1.7L-2.8L. Does anyone have a confirmed amount that should be poured in.

Thanks.

5 speed no LSD, around 2.5L

its never bad to have too much lubrication, unless its engine oil

you fill it up until its level with the side filler hole. lsd box's use less oil as the lsd components take up more room

I use Redline M90, it's a 75W90 synthetic gear oil. 75W90 is the recommended Oil I believe. I'm using that in my C160 and it took just under 2 litres. It's more for a non LSD equipped box.

To be honest I found the Honda oem transmission oil poor (In my ATR) and ended up using this stuff as it was reccomended to me by a guy I know who runs a Honda tuning place (Vtecdirect)

So here is a quick question, What happens if you fill up the box from a different location? like for instance the top of the box?

Is there a bung in the top of the box?
I suppose you could possibly put in to much oil. Or not enough.

I think I might have to agree. After a track session it proved not to be up to the mark, but it may be my syncro's!

IU'm going to try motul or redline next =]
