Hi Guys, Would like to make a formal topic on Gearbox Oil amount. C160 C56 For LSD and non LSD. From the information I have read the ranges are 1.7L-2.8L. Does anyone have a confirmed amount that should be poured in. Thanks. |

you fill it up until its level with the side filler hole. lsd box's use less oil as the lsd components take up more room |

I use Redline M90, it's a 75W90 synthetic gear oil. 75W90 is the recommended Oil I believe. I'm using that in my C160 and it took just under 2 litres. It's more for a non LSD equipped box.

To be honest I found the Honda oem transmission oil poor (In my ATR) and ended up using this stuff as it was reccomended to me by a guy I know who runs a Honda tuning place (Vtecdirect) http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-1051-amsoil-synthetic-manual-transmission-fluid-mtf.aspx |

So here is a quick question, What happens if you fill up the box from a different location? like for instance the top of the box?

Is there a bung in the top of the box? I suppose you could possibly put in to much oil. Or not enough. |

I think I might have to agree. After a track session it proved not to be up to the mark, but it may be my syncro's! IU'm going to try motul or redline next =] |
