Hi all, any advice on what I can do to repair my Kakimoto muffler. It's got very loud over the last few months and i'm pretty sure that some of the internals in the box have been damaged, plenty of wire wool material blew out of it one evenin. I'd love to rip it apart myself and rebuild the internals but i'm no welder. Would any exhaust fitter be willing/able to rebuild it for me? Any advice would be appreciated, my NCT is due by the end of June but I've just tried to book it now and earliest booking I can get it end of August so i've got some time to have it repaired if at all possible. Thanks lads |

Most places will be able to do it for you mate but alot of places will mig weld it back together, the Kakimoto exhaust is originally tig welded and as i'm sure you know a very well made exhaust therfore personally i wouldnt want it cut up and mig welded back together by any old garage, probably the best place to do it would be a local engineering firm, have a drive around and ask ? You dont need to go to somewhere that specifically dose exhausts. |
