i have had my car up to about 185 kph and over 9500 rpm in the past. so thought that my ecu had been tampered with or had a piggyback or something. so spent an hour stripping out the dash and center consoule to get at the ecu to have alook. needless to say everything looks 100% standard to me, and doesnt look like its been tampered with either. so whats up with that? maybe its cos my car was one of the first off the production line back in march 1995, and they didnt restrict it or something, dont know. i allways felt that my car was a show car or something. anyone got any suggestion? now as far as i remember all jap cars are restricted to 180kph, and from reading posts here limited to 8000rpm. ![]()

185 on the speedo or 185 using something to measure it? Speedo accuracy is very bad after 100km/hr. According to my GPS and RSM, 180 on our speedo is actually only around 160km/hr, thats why some people think the car has no 180 speed cut, but in fact, is just because the speedo is inaccurate. |

yup cos there is no way a stock ecu is taking you to9500k as there not mapped after about 8200rpm so unless there is a little guy mapping inside the ecu for you lol i think its been tampered with |
