i was doing some research and came across this piggyback, i was just wondering if it can work with our AE111 or have anyone tried it and have any feedback on this product? seems like it does same work as Greddy E-manage and prices are roughly about the same, so is it better than the emanage? or the factory ECu overrides this as well?

ok i have done some research but still dunno whether it works well with 4age blacktop, even though the company might say yes it will work i still want some reviews of someone who had tried it whether it was a waste of money or not. now am seeing 2 types which am not sure whats different in them, maybe it's the amount of cylinders they support.

the first one which is the cheapest is the
Fuel & Ignition Controller (F/IC-6)

and the second one which is a lil more dare is the
Fuel / Ignition Controller (F/IC-8).

PC-programmable piggy-back controller that allows users to retard timing and add fuel to virtually any engine, even on variable cam timing engines (VTEC, iVTEC, VVTi, MiVEC, etc.).AEM Fuel & Ignition Controller (F/IC-6)

AEM Fuel & Ignition Controller (F/IC-6). Excluding All Honda & Acura except 06-07 S2000. Legal in California only for racing vehicles which may never be used upon a highway.

ive go tit from this link:

It might work mate, but you need to find the correct tuner to tune your car with this ECU. If he doesn't know what to do, it's better to go for an other choice

Is it a stand alone or piggyback? Last year, a tuner here in Cyprus told me to fit in my car a stand alone AEM ECU (I don't know which one-it was expensive though). He said that I will definitely get at least 10-20whp (without cams). He also said that if I don't get at least 10whp, I can give him only half of the money :P (He was very sure that I will get this hp)

So, if your tuner can tune it properly, then go for it buddy. I used to have an Ultimate E manage and it is bulls**t.. Waste of money..

sounds like this AEM unit is a pretty simple controller like the SAFC II. my guess would be that it might lose its memory and play round with the std ECU a bit like the Emanage.

definately worth going to a standalone ECU but don't get caught up with buying a certain brand as each decent ECU on the market has fairly similar features. best bet would be to go see a tuner that KNOWS about 20v's and tuned heaps of them. 10-20hp might be easy to pick up with a ECU on a b16 or b18 but i'm not so sure you're tuner knows how hard it is to get 20hp out of a blacktop!!

*bumping an old thread here* I might be looking to do a budget supercharged build and the aem fic seems to be MUCH cheaper than the emanage ultimate + all of the sensors / accessories you need for the emanage. The problem is after days of searching I've yet to find anyone that says they have successfully used the FIC on a 20V.

Has anyone seen or heard of a 20V using a FIC?
