More than likely a stupid question ut im just wondering does remapping a standard ecu do anythin for power,hp or fuel economy?I no alot of lads that have type r civic and tegs say gettin it mapped for irish petrol makes a difference so im just wondering is this also the case for a levin or would it be a complete waste of time?

can't be done unless you add a daughter board to your factory ECU. honda ecu and toyota ecu are complete different breed of ECU.

buy a honda/nissan if you want to reflash a ECU. toyota was too clever for that.

There are guys out there that have installed Honda ECU's and remapped them. Check out this link:

Not for the faint of heart, but it can be done at a reasonable cost.

the older honda ecus are very good. they can be flashed with software to be used as a universal standalone

i bought a sds system to put on my car but i never installed it it still laying under my bed somewhere, because u used a honda odb1 on my levin 20v and trust me there was a difference even when i had stock internals. and i know a turbo starlet with a 20bt running the same fab doing 12's all engine.
