hi guys, right a few questions, first off, if im gonna remove the filter housing and intake pipe, is it just a crank breather filter i need to add ? im from the UK, wheres the best place to buy an ITG or pipercross sausage filter ? (thinking of it as an option) what things do i need to mount, and where should i mount them, if im just gonna have open stacks with socks ? (i know one of them at least is the air temp sensor). thanks |

i dont think they'd fit, theyre 75mm stacks. i was planning on just using the itg filter, then running a cold feed to it |

To be honest you would loose power as the filter will suffer heatsoak to a degree unless you fit a bonnet vent as a member called Ecsy from here already has done (who co incidently is another welsh owner) But if you really want a filter like you asked I would look at Demon Tweeks based in Wrexham but you would still need to make a base plate for it to mount on the bodies, Again another member has done this. If you have a search on here you should find all you need to know And using a crankcase breather should be fine Edited by TRUENOSAM, Aug 21 2010, 09:38 AM.

yeah i thought i probably would suffer from some slight heatsoaking, but from what ive seen and read, its not major. like i said though im planning on running a cold feed to the stacks anyway...every little helps yeah ive spoken to Ecsy, i may meet up with him so we can compare levins i also did have a look on demon tweeks, who seemed tidy, i just wondered if anyone knew of other places too. |

If it helps, the individual filters (one per trumpet) are about £12 each, so 4 of those £48 instead of £80 - £100 for the big sandwich filter and backing plate. Just make sure you get lots of cold air to them, that's all... Kai McLevin |

you mean the uni sock filters right ? if so, i ordered those with the stacks, but ive heard that they can be sucked into the engine. with that in mind, i found out about the sausage filters and their supposed effectiveness. atm im thinking of taking the risk for a week or so with the socks, all the while setting up a cold feed. i will then change the filter type after ive sorted out some new speakers and set up my sub

Yeah, the sock types, but the ones I have are quite solid walls and tops - there's no wat that they could be sucked in......;) ITG is the make, if that helps.... Here's the pic: ![]() Kai McLevin Edited by kaivaksdal, Aug 24 2010, 10:48 AM.

If u gonna use those filters i recommend u stick with the stock set up as those filters eliminates the effect of the bell shape of the stacks. |
