hi my 97 bzr failed the nct on exhust emitions. any tips on lowering the emitions?

First off the Cat only works at it's best when it's fully heated up, so give it a good rev on the way up and arrive just on time so it's still piping hot when they test it.

Try putting some injector cleaners and octane booster in the tank followed by some spirited driving (a lot of people swear by Dipetane).

Are you running an aftermarket exhaust? If the pipes are larger in size than the standard it can cause you to fail due to more gases coming out in the exhaust.

change the oil ,fuel filter if not changed in the last two years,is your air filter dirty? use injecter cleaner, and octane booster on the day. lamda sensor or cat or both might be gone.
check for exhaust leaks
