Hey guys i own a 1996 Trueno and i have been noticing that when i fill up fuel in my car, it takes pretty long for the needle to actually come up to the right level and then it drops down pretty fast hence not doing enough amount of kms.

Also halfway between the last line and the second last line the reserve light goes on :o i drive it till the end anyways but what do you guys think the problem is??

Cheers

Well how much fuel does it take from when its empty? The fuel light should come on when there is 8L left in the tank. The total tank capacity is 50L.

Which means:
First half of the gauge 25L ~300km
From middle to empty light 17L ~200km

A full tank does just 300kms by driving in the city. It supposed to do more than that isn't it?

Maybe next few times you fill up actually record how many km's you get. I would say 350-400km from 40L km would be average for an auto.

Ok so its 35 litres because mine is a AE110. Full tank does 300kms.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I just realized that you giuys get 50 Litres (13 Gallons) in your tank. When my fuel needle is below the empty line (gas light on) I put EC$100.00 (6.66 Gallons) in the tank and this takes the needle up to almost the full line. I get on average 275km with this fuel. Do you guys full up beyond the fulll line to get the 50 Litres or am i doing something wrong.

Thanks guys. I will let the car run out of gas next time to see how much it can really take. I have a friend who fills his GT startlet to below the gas cap where he can put his finger in the hole and touch the fuel.
