ECU Diag code 42

Hi guys, the trueno is running great, but every now and then I get the engine light come up.

When doing the diagnostics trick with E1 and TE1, i get error code 42, which is apparently the Vehicle Speed Sensor.

Unsure why this is coming up, has happened since AceSniper and I did the engine conversion. Little confused, as the speedo seems to be working fine..

Not overly concerned as it's not causing a problem, just thought I'd ask around.

Cheers

Have you checked that the connector is plugged in? Maybe on the gearbox somewhere if they have one

hey, the speed to the dash works right?
Are you sure its not to do with your RSM install?

You can always find the signal that's been sent to the dash and run it into the wire on the ecu (in case the signals not getting there)

yea i would also check the wiring if you have an rsm. I was getting the same error when I had disconnected mine but left the wiring in. Or could be a loose wire on the rsm.

I haven't had the code check yet...

But after uninstalling my Defis BF (Water + Oil Temp) and my RSM...

My engine light comes on after 3-5mins of driving? My friend that helped me with it reckons it's the air sensor (Lazy/Unsure where to fit in my Tom's CF Twin entry Intake + HKS Pod + ARC Chamber) but I've had that thing dangling around since last year? or year before and no problems...

Anyone else had this?

Speed sensor is the first thing that pops to mind. Was your RSM wired in to remove speed cut?

I 'think' so? My good friend hooked it up for me but he's not available to unhook the RSM up hence why I had a go with another mate =|
