i dont think so but ive heard people bolting on a 2zzge gear box i think from a lotus not sure? :idk:
tell you what send the ae111 gearbox to a cryo freeze place who will deep freeze it to make it tougher or take out all the gears and synchro and get them shot peened to make them tougher or both if you got the spare cash .
then why do you want a much tougher gearbox unless your going to bring up the horses and torque?

yes i am going forced induction and i know the stock 6 speed wont be able to take it if i get it where i am aiming for. and i drag race twice a week, making matters worst.

drag racing, tell you what get your engine and gear box cryo frozen , makes the metal harder internally not like shot peening only tuffens the outside of the metal where cracks and fatigue start , the best thing you can leave everything built just get it frozen like -170 or so .
it does work. ill be getting my engine and gearbox done after christmas (frozensolid.co.uk).
best of luck with the build be sure to document your build on the forum to show people the in and outs of a turbo ae111 ;)

yes that what i did, but i had to change the shifter stick to, cause with the 6 speed shifter shick the gears weren't going in, so i had to get a shifter stick for a 5 speed and every thing works ok now, execpt the 3rd gear in this gear box is so bad if i try putting in in under to much rpm it pops right backt out to.

Yeah if drag racing is your thing and you keep breaking C160's go for the C56.

Heard recently that the guys from Speedtech in NZ who use to drag a Mitsi Evo3 tried cryo treating their box parts to give them strength but found the $$ involved wasn't worth it and would just put the money towards the next replacement box instead haha

Cyro treating and shot peening will probably worsen the shock force effect on the gearset as it will make the gears more brittle.
really what you want to do to improve it is get bigger gear surface areas for meshing so the force is spread further.

2zz 6 speed boxes out of Runx's work. i think ace has worked on a couple there has got a thread on here talking about it. pretty much put 2zz gearset in c160 bell housing. not sure what is involved though but if you search you should find something.

go for a c56 but for drag racing or abuse like that where you will run sticky rubber and asmuch power as possible use a gze box best way to go, you can change your ratios around a little as sw20 3sgte run the same box
