as ikenty said, why buy something that works for one day? best you save your money and purchase a proper piggyback or standalone system. safc is a waste for 4age bt. |

i heard someone asking this same question even though i think it's a waste to be resetting the ecu every week, but what does the safc does to our blacktops while working? was just thinking it might come in handy not for an everyday usage but for racing purposes.

It only adjust A/F ratio... Not exactly useful without adjust ignition timing... |

? what are you guys on about with resetting the ECU every week? as Dreadangel said, it only adjusts the A/F ratio, its not a piggy back controller like the emanage etc that don't work on blacktop ecu's. SAFC can give good results on a std engine. NILPSI had one in his car before he rebuilt it and it make about an extra 5kw with the safc as the std blacktop tune is quite rich. he set it up on the dyno so got the ignition timing right but he said it made heaps of difference to the way it drove. |

open stacks do lean it out a bit by giving less restriction = moar air being sucked in. it could be used with open stacks to ensure the A/F stays correct. but main reason why you lose power when running open trumpets is the lack of cold air getting into the engine. |

there is a big difference between testing at a drag strip to see if you have made your car faster and testing on a dyno. the dyno gets rid of the human factor which can be slightly different each run etc. |

Dyno though unless you're using a standardised testing mode/program like Dyno Dynamic's Shootout mode, the dyno jock can make your dyno reading a lot 'happier' then the fella that gave you an accurate reading. So use it as only an indicator especially if its not a standardised testing mode/program. |
