one of the best ECU at affordable price in New Zealand. I use it on my levin. HOWEVER IT ALL DEPENDS IF YOUR LOCAL TUNER KNOWS HOW TO USE IT PROPERLY! |

Yea i no about the tuning part ahri, did you get good gains from it with aggressive cams? How much would a the full ecu kit cost? |

an ECU is only a part of a bigger picture. I cannot tell you if the ECU alone contributed to good gains because an ECU only optimizes the mods you have made. One thing I can say is that it is alot stable compared with E-Manage Ultimate. Full wire in kit cost about $1500NZD when I bought mine 1.5 years ago. |

they have gone up in price a bit to about $1700nz for a storm. there are a few cheaper variants but for a little bit extra you may as well get all the bells and whistles. with the right tuner you can get decent gains with an ECU even on std engine as the std ecu tune isn't really that flash. of course cams are going to net good results but how good they are depends on how they are tuned. i have heard that tuners over here prefer link because they are just so easy to tune and straight foward that they find they spend less time setting up trival things like idle control etc and get more usable tuning time for the customers money. |

Power is to be made in the head (with bigger cams etc) and higher compression on an NA engine. ECU is just there to make sure timing and fuel are correct

gains can be made from just the ECU added to a std engine too. the tune for BT is better than silvertop but still really rich! but yeah aim for higher compression and bigger cams and you can't really go wrong. i'm pretty sure link has their tuning software online for free if your tuner wants to take a look and see what he thinks. http://www.linkecu.com/ that is a NZD price too so quite cheap to you over there. |
