Brought the car out for a drive today and there was quite a loud knocking noise from the front whenever I let off the throttle and also when clutching. The rate of knocking increased/decreased with speed. I changed the long arm beside the fig 8 on the drivers side yesterday. Could we have upset the driveshaft while we were at that? Brought it back to the yard and put it over the pit and jacked it up and all the links seemed to be fine and in place. Also ran it while the front wheels were jacked up to get a view of it running while in the pit but it didnt knock while the front was off the ground Edited by robmcs88, Feb 20 2011, 05:54 PM.

Sounds like bushing some where in the front. |

check the front and rear engine mounts. that will most likely be the cause. or possibly could be the exhaust hitting (worn exhaust mounts) |
