ok guys quick question what is the stock ecu limited to speed wise.

as i have a feeling i may have a chipped ecu even though nothing is on the box. as i was following a porche today on Cough private roads and i was slightly off the clock. lol. so i have a feeling the car is not limited.

Check your speedo and your mates Skyline... 180km/h is the highest reading unless they converted/swapped...

Limiter kicks in at around 180-185 kph. The thing is that most speedos overestimate the speed. When my car is going 100 kph (GPS verified) it will read 110 kph on the speedo.

My rsm at 100km/h says 99km/h and at 180km/h says 177km/h. Not much difference. But I have 17 inch wheels now. I don't now if this effects

With 17" wheels depending on the tire size you will be out about 2 or 3%

I get my wagon to almost 180kmh in 4th then shift to 5 and the needle goes off past 180 and I still get to make 6th but I dont have anything to measue my speed. After my friend BZR reach 180kmh it just pull up like limiter on.

The official limiter is the same as all jdm cars,180kmh which is 112mph. The limiter will kick in a little after this (around 185-190 ish) but remember that literally every speedo will lie and over read.

I installed a Black Top with ECU into my 89 MR2. I hit a hard rev limiter at 120 mph, twice. Which equals about 195ph.

180kph is well off the clock on the factory speedo due to the spedo error. Say its out my 5% @ 200kph that's an error of 10kph.

limiter is at 112mph or 180kph but the speedo error can be upto 10% so expect to go past the end of the clock and the limiter can also be slow to react.

cruise upto 119mph on my speedo, limiter kicks in satnav speed 112mph
if im on it iv had satnav at 119mph and speedo 126-8mph (my clock stops at 120) before the limiter comes in.

these were on test days at open airfeilds obviously.
