Hello all,

As most of you know I recently rebuilt the 20v, anyways it's up and running sweet now..

I want to try and source a distributor cap from elsewhere as Mr T would like almost £70..

I cannot read the part number stamped onto the side of my distributor. Can someone please confirm the part number stamped on the side of the distributor?

From the parts listing number below:
19100-16270 DISTRIBUTOR ASSY 01.05.1995-01.08.2000 4AGE..AE111

Is this the number stamped onto the distributor?

Cheers for the assistance,

Jason

Cheers for all the replies guys!

I'm only looking to purchase the distributor cap & rotor arm.

I have managed to get a rotor arm for £5 form fleabay but can't seem to find a pattern cap. They have to be used on other engines etc...

I needed the distributor assembly part number so I can send it to various distributor suppliers, then they can hopefully match a cap to the distributor part number.

No luck finding one as of yet!

I've given Mr T. enough money for one month!

I can't see how they justify £300 for a distributor. My guess it will be the whole thing and not just the cap.

I would drop the parrot a pm as he seems to get his hands on a lot of items

The only engines that use similar distributor caps to ours are 4EFTE and 3SGE and 3SGTE. The Rotor is the same for these engines too and the Suzuki Samurai Engines too. .

no what would bad valve clearances do?

if there to loose could mean the valve not seating properly when driving. also can cause a tappy head. i doubt this is your problem. but its worth a try at this point.

You've put the new cap and rotor in aye? That old cap does look quite worn down on the contacts (might be the pictures)

Taz what are your symptoms?
Someone stated VVt Pulley in a post above.
-When you drive the car with VVT solenoid plugged off does it feel worse than when it is on?
-Do you have access to another ECU to try?
-Are your Plug leads good?
-Are your Spark Plugs good?

sparks are brand new
the leads seam perfect condition
as for ecu no access available
best way to explain my problem is I have severe bogging down once throttle is pressed a total complete lack of response and power
any ideas?
