Hi there all as a few of you may know I'm living in Thailand at the moment. There is a very big tuning scene here and I've managed to find a place with trumpets for the Blacktop engine, as per the title the length of them are 75mm. Can anybody tell me if they will fit inside the standard plenum? They work out at about £90 ish posted to the UK if anybody is interested? Aluminium construction and very good quality. Thanks in advance all

Most companies that sell states cant fit. There was a thread on here about imec trumpets that had a reference and someone trying. |

The airbox is approx 110mm.. They will fit, but they will not work as they are too long. Air Flow going in the engine will not be enough.. That's why they DO NOT fit! Try 30-50mm trumpets, like imec |

So basically you are saying that they will fit in the plenum but they wont do any good to performance? I thought being longer that they may help more with regards to lower/midrange power which is what I'd like or are they simply too too long? |

they will be pushed right up against the plenum wall, so nt a lot of space for air to be directed im sure ive seen these on ebay |

Thanks for the advice all! Very much appreciated. I'll ask the guy about some shorter ones, I guess these are ment to be run open? Not something I really want to do. |

TTT make the 75mm trumpets too... I spoke to Gabriel about them, they won't fit, especially if the design is bellmouthed at the tip. Its used solely for power production with aggressive cams. |

Right I see, like you say they must be designed to run open with some aggressive cams, sure you'd get good results but not exactly suited to a road set up. I'll have a chat with the guy and see if I can get shorter ones, around 50mm I'm thinking. Thanks for all the help and advice guys

Maybe you are right about the bellmounted trumpets. The 75mm fitted on the stock airbox I have seen, were straight.. Like tubes But they gave crap hp to the car

So If I can get these in a 50mm version do you think they would be worthwhile? Bearing in mind that I will be running cams and a aftermarket ECU in the near future. Thanks. |

They will fit, but you have to cut the one a little. The bellmount, about 5mm |
