sensor , re drill your cai pipe and use the original grommit and plug sensor back in ,,,,, not sure about mushroom fitting you might need to angle it to fit

i did it with mine using cone filter , looked excellent sounded good and a little noticable pic up difference

its the best location and cai set up for the ae111 and as long as dirt guard is still there no real risk of filter getting wet

i prefer the mushroom look over the cone, and well im hoping to get one on the cheap side.

well im sure it'll be alot better than the open trumpets im running atm :D
id be tempted to buy some small stacks for in the plenum though...not sure whether to bother or not.

theres a piece of my dirt guard missing, somebody from japan must of done it before it came over. im guessing they had some sort of CAI on it.
reckon i should find something to cover the gap ?

yeah when i made mine, I have the inverse K&N cone filter so I had to create another bend facing towards the front of the bumper after entering the guard, so I will have enough clearance between the piping and guard liner.

I asked my father who is a head mechanic and runs the local workshop about getting one of these, he says they decrease HP. I think he is just presuming I would position it in a bad place where the engine heat would get to it? Am I right? He can be quite intimidating to stand there and ask too many questions. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

So if I shield it from the engine heat, it won't decrease HP? :P :idk:

my fathers like that, he has his own garage too. i rarely ask him things because of how he is lol, i just find things out myself.

generally speaking, provided that you position well so that theres little or no hot air being sucked in, you gonna have an improvement.
with our cars though, from what ive read, people say that the induction system is so good that you will see a decrease. but people do say that they notice a difference in response and smoothness of the acceleration if you put the filter behind the bumper.

so thats what im gonna find out :D
its gonna be better than how i have it atm anyway. open stacks suck for performance, i knew that though, the sound is just ridiculous .

I had mine behind bumper and it was no use whats so ever! moved it back to the engine bay with some stainless piping down so it sits just behind the battery and a bit of ducting upto it and it is very good more responsive too.

behind the bumper as in piping from the plenum down and through the hole by the battery into where the resonator would be ?
